As the summer season approaches, an exciting opportunity awaits children aged 5 to 17 who are eager to explore the world of business. The Children’s Entrepreneur Markets, a series of five events, offers young participants a chance to develop essential skills such as leadership, budgeting, and marketing while experiencing the thrill of entrepreneurship. Originating in Utah, this program has already empowered over 10,000 children, helping them grow and succeed through hands-on experience.

This innovative initiative provides a platform where kids can learn what it takes to run a successful business. Under the guidance of local managers like Holly Shepperson from Casper Market, these markets emphasize real-world entrepreneurial experiences. A key feature of the program is its focus on independence: parents or guardians must refrain from interfering with their child's progress. Instead, they are encouraged to supervise from a distance, allowing the young entrepreneurs to handle all aspects of their ventures themselves.

Participants will engage directly with customers, manage transactions, and create their own products, whether it involves cooking, crafting, or offering services. These activities teach valuable lessons about responsibility, communication, and financial management. Through this process, children gain confidence and practical knowledge that can benefit them throughout their lives.

The schedule for this summer includes four events in Casper and one in Douglas. Kicking off on June 5 at David Street Station during Art Walk, the series continues with Jackalope Days in Douglas on June 13. Additional events take place on July 10, August 9, and conclude on September 1 at El Marko Lanes. Families interested in joining should visit the official website for more details and registration information.

Beyond just selling goods, these markets foster creativity and personal growth. They provide a supportive environment where children can experiment, make mistakes, and ultimately thrive as budding entrepreneurs. Such initiatives not only build lasting memories but also equip the next generation with crucial life skills.

By participating in these markets, children embark on a journey of discovery and empowerment. As they navigate the challenges and rewards of running their own businesses, they acquire tools that will serve them well in whatever paths they choose to pursue. This unique program exemplifies how experiential learning can inspire and transform young minds, preparing them for future success.
