Running back Bucky Irving at the Giants presents an excellent opportunity. He has emerged as the best runner in the Tampa Bay backfield, averaging 1.3 yards more per rush compared to Rachaad White. Against a Giants front seven that gives out a dismal 5.3 YPC (yards per carry), which is the worst in the NFL, running lanes should be readily available. This makes Irving a solid pick for your fantasy team.
Wide receiver Quentin Johnston facing the Ravens is also a great option. Although the Chargers slightly prefer the run, the gap is small. Justin Herbert's play has been on the upswing in recent weeks. Johnston is riding this wave and has scored touchdowns in three consecutive games. Moreover, the injury-wrecked Baltimore secondary offers very little resistance, giving Johnston ample chances to make big plays.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels against the Cowboys has a bit of a concern. The nagging rib injury seems to be affecting his running ability. In the last two weeks, he has only managed 23 rushing yards and has finished as a QB24 on both occasions. While the Cowboys are a favorable matchup, it remains to be seen if Washington will press the pace for a full three hours. This could impact Daniels' performance.
Quarterback Anthony Richardson against the Lions is another interesting case. Detroit's defense has become a problem, but Richardson found his rhythm in the comeback win over the Jets. He offers a useful rushing backboard, which can be valuable in a start. However, the matchup against the Lions' defense will be crucial.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud against the Titans has not been at his best in the past seven weeks. Part of the reason is that Joe Mixon is the touchdown priority at the goal line. Additionally, Tennessee is not as easy a matchup as one might suspect, ranking a respectable 11th in defensive DVOA. Stroud needs to step up his game to regain his form.
Wide receiver DJ Moore against the Vikings is in a slump. He has only managed three touchdowns for the year and has averaged less than 10 yards per catch in eight out of 10 games. Rome Odunze might be a better offensive fit as the Bears navigate the rest of the year with a new offensive coordinator, Thomas Brown. Moore needs to find his groove soon.
Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle against the Patriots is a tough call. The Dolphins have unlocked TE Jonnu Smith and Tyreek Hill is too good to bench. However, Waddle has scored just one touchdown all year and has not reached 60 yards since the opening day. In shallow formats, it might be a good idea to consider dropping Waddle.
Tight end Mark Andrews against the Chargers has seen his role shrink last week with Isaiah Likely back. The Chargers' seam coverage has been outstanding throughout the year, making it difficult for Andrews to make an impact. It will be interesting to see how his role evolves in the coming weeks.
