On October 15, 2024, ELCA World Hunger will host a Zoom webinar to celebrate World Food Day and the organization's remarkable 50-year history. This special event, titled "Celebrating 50 Years of ELCA World Hunger," will be hosted by the Rev. Amy Current, bishop of the Southeastern Iowa Synod, and Imran Siddiqui, vice president of the ELCA. The webinar will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to hear firsthand accounts from ELCA World Hunger's partners, including Educación Popular en Salud (EPES), a community health organization in Chile that has been making a difference for over four decades, and Tapestry Farms, a Midwestern urban-farm system in the "Quad Cities" of Iowa and Illinois that represents a more recent initiative.Through these powerful stories, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the transformative impact ELCA World Hunger has had on communities around the world over the past 50 years.
