Ariana Rodriguez Leads the Way with Impressive Singles Sweep
Ariana Rodriguez was the star of the show, putting together a flawless 3-0 record in singles play. The Denison standout won all three of her matches in straight sets, demonstrating her exceptional skill and consistency on the court. Rodriguez's victories included a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Taryn Simmers of Otterbein, a 6-2, 6-3 win against Olivia Eckles of the Cardinals, and a dominant 6-2, 6-1 performance against Niya Bell.Multiple Big Red Players Secure Pair of Wins
Several other members of the Denison women's tennis team also shone brightly at the Kenyon Invitational, with Dasha Chistyakova, Elizabeth Hoo, Maia Nowicki, and Hayley Shay all finishing the weekend with 2-1 records. Chistyakova secured a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory over Otterbein's Daniela De Mata, and later added a 6-4, 6-1 win against Manuela Van Cotthem. Shay, after a tough opening-match loss in a third-set tiebreaker, bounced back with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Niya Bell and a 6-2, 7-5 triumph against Daniela De Mata. Nowicki capped off her strong performance with a 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 victory over Lillia Walter of Otterbein, while Hoo secured wins over Breanna Ball of Otterbein and Elizabeth Ackerman of Kenyon.Denison Doubles Duos Shine on Sunday
The Denison doubles teams also made their mark on the final day of the Kenyon Invitational. The pairing of Rodriguez and Hoo won both of their matches, sweeping past Niya Bell and Cassady Shough of Otterbein and later defeating the team from Kenyon by a 6-2 score. The duo of Charlotte Johns and Caitlin VanWinkle also went 2-0 in doubles play on Sunday, securing wins over teams from Kenyon and Carnegie Mellon.Denison Prepares for Home Invitational
