In the concluding week of the 2025 spring tennis season, two standout players from Wayne State University were honored for their exceptional performances. Cedric Drenth and Anais Ruyssen have been acknowledged by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for their contributions to their respective teams' successes.

Cedric Drenth's leadership on the men's team was instrumental in securing a decisive victory against Ferris State University. The senior athlete showcased his prowess by winning a tightly contested singles match in straight sets at the top position. This triumph not only solidified his place as Wayne State's all-time leader in singles victories but also highlighted his strategic partnership with Tom Wasner, which resulted in another commanding win in doubles action.

Anais Ruyssen similarly left an indelible mark on the women's competition. Her dual wins in both singles and doubles matches played a pivotal role in guiding her team to an undefeated conference record and clinching the GLIAC regular-season title. Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, Ruyssen dominated her opponent in the singles encounter while maintaining synergy with her partner, Dea Gorgidze, in doubles play.

The achievements of these athletes underscore the value of dedication and teamwork in achieving excellence.
