






The University of Chicago women’s tennis team secured a significant victory against the #55 North Central (IL) in the NCAA Tournament's second round. This triumph marked their 14th consecutive advancement to the Regional Final. The Maroons showcased exceptional performance, particularly in doubles and singles play, setting the stage for an upcoming match against #18 Gustavus Adolphus.
On Friday afternoon in Chicago, Illinois, the University of Chicago demonstrated remarkable prowess during their doubles matches. The duo of Charlotte Klein and Oliwia Mikos swiftly defeated the seventh-ranked Central Region team with a perfect 6-0 score. Following closely, Shianna Guo and Sylwia Mikos clinched another decisive win at the second doubles position, posting a 6-1 result. Meanwhile, Clara Zou and Lauren Khou held a commanding lead at the third doubles slot before the overall point was secured.
In singles action, the lower part of UChicago’s lineup took charge and dominated their respective matches. Shianna Guo delivered her second win of the day with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance at the sixth singles position. Isabelle Chong followed suit with a strong 6-1, 6-1 victory at fifth singles, extending the Maroons' lead to three points. Subsequently, Oliwia Mikos sealed the deal with a resounding 6-0, 6-1 triumph at fourth singles. Prior to the conclusion of the match, the Maroons had successfully won the first set in all remaining singles positions.
This victory boosted the Maroons’ season record to 21-1, marking an impressive streak of 32 straight wins over Division III opponents. Looking ahead, they will face off against #18 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday at noon, with a place in the NCAA Quarterfinals hanging in the balance.
