Three Arrested in Claiborne County for 5 Pounds of Meth and Other Drugs

In Claiborne County, Tennessee, a significant drug-related incident took place. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office was on the lookout for a car associated with a person wanted for outstanding felony charges. Thanks to information from an APLR, detectives were able to pull over the vehicle on Highway 33 just north of Lone Mountain Road. Once the car was stopped, the K-9 Kira was deployed, and she quickly alerted the detectives to the presence of narcotics inside. After a thorough search, an astonishing amount of approximately five pounds of methamphetamine was found, along with a quantity of cocaine, mushrooms, and three handguns.

Katelyn Boatright

This 27-year-old from Middlesboro, Kentucky, was arrested on a warrant and faced several serious charges. She was charged with possession of a Scheduled I controlled substance for resale, possession of a Scheduled II controlled substance (cocaine) for resale, possession of methamphetamine for resale more than 2,000 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (three counts), possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, and criminal conspiracy.

Bryson Hatfield

The 22-year-old from Middlesboro, Kentucky, was also arrested. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale more than 2,000 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (three counts), possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, criminal conspiracy, driving while in possession of methamphetamine, and driving on a suspended/revoked driver license.

The 21-year-old from Tazewell was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale more than 2,000 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (three counts), possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, and criminal conspiracy.These arrests highlight the serious nature of drug trafficking and the efforts of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office to keep the community safe. The discovery of such a large quantity of methamphetamine and other drugs is a cause for concern and serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against drug-related crimes.
