Former BYU player Keelan Marion announced on social media that he had received an offer from the Volunteers, among other notable schools like West Virginia, Baylor, Florida State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arizona State, Miami, and SMU. With a remarkable track record in both receiving and kick return roles, Marion is set to make waves in college football once again.
Keelan Marion, a highly acclaimed athlete hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, made significant strides during his tenure at BYU. The previous season showcased his exceptional talents as he garnered numerous All-American honors for his stellar performance in returning kicks. Notably recognized by Walter Camp, FWAA, Pro Football Focus, CBS Sports, Phil Steele, and others, Marion was named First Team All-American return specialist. Additionally, he earned accolades such as Big 12 Kick Returner of the Year and multiple first and second team recognitions within the conference.
In 2024 alone, Marion returned 18 kicks, accumulating 347 yards and scoring twice. As a receiver, he recorded 24 receptions for 346 yards and a touchdown. His versatility extended beyond catching passes; he also demonstrated prowess on the ground, rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to joining BYU, Marion spent three years at UConn, where injuries sidelined him in 2020 and 2022, but not before leading the Huskies in receiving yards in 2021.
