If you're a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, you won't want to miss what happened on December 13th. On her 35th birthday, Swift remained relatively quiet on her social media accounts. However, her official team, Taylor Nation, took the initiative to direct fans towards a new section on her website dedicated to archiving material across different eras. This move sparked a wave of excitement among fans, who were eager to explore the treasures within.

Discovering the TS Eras Archive

Fans can easily navigate the TS Eras Archive by simply clicking on a picture of Swift on the photo banner from the era they wish to explore. Once there, they are treated to a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes clips from the music video shoots for songs like "Anti-Hero," "Karma," "Fortnight," and many more. These clips have all been newly uploaded to YouTube as of December 13th, and they offer a unique glimpse into Swift's creative process. Additionally, these BTS videos can also be found by directly going to Swift's YouTube page and sorting videos by "latest."In one of the clips, a silver statue version of Swift quips, "I have been the architect of my own chaos that I currently live in. I have no idea how many hundreds of showers it's gonna take to get this off." This showcases Swift's self-awareness and sense of humor.

Swift's Directorial Work

A recurring theme in these clips is the emphasis on Swift's hands-on work, personality, and style as a director. Not only is she the obvious star of each music video, but she also takes on the role of director. Swift has already amassed 10 directorial credits, including 9 music videos and one short (All Too Well: The Short Film). She has plans to shift her focus to feature films, and in December 2022, it was announced that she will make her debut as a feature film director with Searchlight Pictures. The as-yet-unnamed film will be based on a script that is entirely her own.

The Eras Tour and Beyond

Many (if not all?) of the behind-the-scenes videos from Friday's drop were actually played at stadiums during The Eras Tour before Swift took the stage for her 3.5-hour concert. The volume and excitement at the stadiums made it difficult to fully appreciate all the little details in the clips. But now, fans can watch them at their leisure from the comfort of their own homes. What's more, the video progress bar features an icon of Swift's signature heart hands, adding a touch of charm. On December 13th, Taylor Nation also shared a link to a new Apple Music playlist from Swift called "Winter Warmers." This playlist features carefully selected songs from her own catalog mixed with picks from Eras opening acts, providing a unique listening experience.Swift's massive Eras Tour came to an end in Vancouver on December 8th, just before she was named the big winner at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12th. With 10 new wins, she has become the most-awarded artist in the show's history. In her acceptance speech video, she expressed her gratitude to her fans, stating that their support of the music is the reason for her success.Billboard editors were on site at Vancouver's BC Place to review the final weekend of The Eras Tour.
