In a captivating display of skill and determination, Smooge Racing's Corey Lewis emerged victorious in the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race No. 1 at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Partnering with Tyler Gonzalez, Lewis navigated the challenging circuit with precision, overcoming fierce competition to secure a hard-fought triumph.

A Nail-Biting Showdown at the Brickyard

Smooge Racing's Corey Lewis Seizes the Lead

With just 15 minutes remaining in the race, Corey Lewis of Smooge Racing managed to catch and overtake ACI Motorsports' Curt Swearingin, who had held the overall lead. From that point on, Lewis pulled away from the pack, securing the win for himself and his teammate, Tyler Gonzalez. This victory marked Gonzalez's second win of the season and Lewis' first.

Fierce Competition in the Silver Class

The top-three finishers in the race were also the top-three teams in the Silver class. Random Vandals Racing's Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch finished second, while Rennsport One's John Capestro-Dubets and Eric Filgueiras claimed the third spot on the podium.

Precision Racing LA's Impressive Comeback

Despite a challenging start, Precision Racing LA's Terry Borcheller and Ryan Eversley managed to make a remarkable comeback. Eversley was able to catch and pass Swearingin in the closing stages of the race, securing a fourth-place finish overall and a class victory for the team.

Heartbreak for The Heart of Racing

The Pro-Am championship was decided in favor of ACI Motorsports when The Heart of Racing encountered two separate issues. First, the team's pit stop to switch from Roman DeAngelis to Gray Newell was more than a second under the 108-second minimum pit lane delta, resulting in a drive-through penalty. Before Newell could serve the penalty, he suffered a right rear tire puncture, forcing him to limp back to the pits. The team ultimately finished 25th overall.

Rotek Racing's Impressive Am Class Victory

In the Am class, Rotek Racing's Robb Holland and Jaden Lander dominated the competition, earning their fourth win of the year and taking the points lead in the process. Their margin of victory was a commanding 18.921 seconds over the second-place finishers, KRUGSPEED's Kevin Conway and Anthony Geraci.

The Final Showdown Awaits

The Pirelli GT4 America SprintX championship will be decided in the final race of the season, scheduled for 10:35 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. Fans can tune in to the live stream on the GT World YouTube channel and SpeedSport1 to witness the thrilling conclusion of this captivating series.
