Silver Class Showdown: Smooge Racing's Stellar Performance

The Silver class battle was a true showcase of talent and determination. Tyler Gonzalez, piloting the No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO, started on the second row but quickly maneuvered his way past a Pro-Am competitor to chase down the overall lead. Michai Stephens in the No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 and John Capestro-Dubets in the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport held their positions, while championship rival Kevin Boehm in the No. 97 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82 dropped some overall positions at the start but continued to run fourth in class. As the pit stops and driver changes unfolded, the running order remained mostly unchanged, but RS1's Eric Filgueiras capitalized on an opportunity to move up into second in class. Jesse Webb and Kenton Koch engaged in a side-by-side battle, with Koch ultimately gaining the advantage to claim another spot. In the closing stages, Koch relentlessly pursued Filgueiras, eventually finding an opening to overtake him for second place, further reducing the championship points gap heading into the final round.Corey Lewis, Gonzalez's co-driver, expertly managed the gap and traffic to secure the victory for Smooge Racing, their second win of the season. "This win goes to the whole team at Smooge Racing, TRD, and Toyota Racing," said Lewis. "Partnering with Tyler Gonzalez has been a blessing, and I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this team again."

Pro-Am Class Thriller: Precision Racing LA's Triumph

The Pro-Am class battle was equally captivating, with Matheus Leist starting on pole in the No. 89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4, but Kay van Berlo in the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport quickly taking the lead. As the halfway mark approached, Leist fought back, and Roman De Angelis in the No. 24 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO waited for his chance to strike. The front-runners pitted one after the other with just over 25 minutes to go, and Curt Swearingin and Michael Auriemma took over their respective machines. Heartbreak struck the Heart of Racing team as a tire puncture dropped them out of contention after De Angelis handed over to Gray Newell. In the second half of the race, a late-stage charge through the pack from Ryan Eversley in the No. 07 Precision Racing LA Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO saw him overtake Auriemma for second place and then set his sights on Swearingin. With just two laps to go, Eversley made a decisive move down the main straight to claim the victory for Precision Racing LA.Although Precision Racing LA won the battle, it was ACI Motorsports who ultimately won the war, as Swearingin and van Berlo's second-place finish was enough to secure the class championship title. "I had Kay, my engineer, my team, they all made it possible," said Swearingin. "We progressed as a team and as drivers, and I'm proud of what we've accomplished."

Am Class Dominance: Rotek Racing's Commanding Performance

In the Am class, Robb Holland in the No. 099 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport dominated from start to finish, taking the class pole and never relinquishing the lead. The battle for the remaining podium positions saw Michael Kanisczak in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 and Anthony Gerarci in the No. 72 KRUGSPEED Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO engage in a fierce fight, with Gerarci ultimately overtaking Kanisczak.Jaden Lander, who took over the Rotek Racing machine from Holland, maintained the lead as he returned to the track. Kevin Conway in the KRUGSPEED Toyota gained a position at the beginning of his stint, but Kris Wilson in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing car kept him honest.Rotek Racing's victory was a critical moment in the championship, as they now hold a 7-point advantage over Random Vandals Racing in the standings. "We had a strong start, built up a gap, and then put Jaden in the car, and he just kept putting in consistent laps," said Holland. "We're super happy with the result, and we'll take this momentum into tomorrow."The Pirelli GT4 America field will return for Race 2 on Sunday, promising another thrilling chapter in this captivating championship battle.
