Sewing Store's Kindness Transforms Students' Winter
How the Project Started
Quilts For Kids began as a small effort in 2019 to help a few kids. Over the years, it has grown significantly, providing assistance to more than 150 children in Pine Knot, Kentucky in 2022. Store owner Angie Behrman's childhood experience motivated her to ensure students receive these gifts. She chose McCreary County, one of the more impoverished areas in the US, as the first school to receive support. 2: This growth shows the dedication and impact of the “Quilts For Kids” project. It started with a simple intention and has now become a significant source of comfort for many children. The Impact on Clifty Creek Students
Clifty Creek students are set to receive a special quilt and pillowcase on Dec. 8. Ashley Kimbrell, the school counselor, identified the students with the greatest needs through her work. These gifts will consist of various patterns like farm animals, tractors, airplanes, and dolls, all meant for elementary-aged children. 2: Not only will the students receive these beautiful quilts and pillowcases, but they will also have the chance to see Santa, receive a cookie platter, and play board games. This creates a memorable experience during the holiday season. The Gratitude and Hard Work Involved
Kimbrell expressed her deep gratitude for the time and energy put into making these quilts and pillowcases. The ladies have spent countless hours working on them, and the result is truly beautiful. 2: Their dedication is evident in the quality of the quilts and pillowcases. It shows the power of community and the impact that a small act of kindness can have on the lives of these students.
