Prodisee Pantry Packs 1,200 Holiday Food Boxes for Baldwin County Families

The Prodisee Pantry in Baldwin County has been working tirelessly to assist food-insecure families. Just after Thanksgiving, they were back in action this morning, packing boxes filled with food for Christmas. Many of these same families are expected to rely on the pantry during the Christmas season.

Holiday Assistance at Prodisee Pantry

On Saturday, 1200 boxes filled with all the holiday fixings were expertly packed and loaded by dedicated volunteers at the Prodisee Pantry's Highway 31 location. This past week, nearly 1400 families were given free food to grace their tables on Thanksgiving. Executive Director Deann Servos anticipates a similar number of families coming through their doors to pick up food for Christmas. "More families are seeking assistance with the most essential items," said Deann Servos. "We've noticed a 5% increase throughout the year. From the start of school until now, there has been a 19% rise in families. Even during the holidays, we typically see an uptick, but this year it seems especially challenging for many."

Food Pick-Up Details

For Baldwin County families in need, food pick-up dates are set on upcoming Tuesdays from 9 am to 11:30 am. This includes December 3, 10, and 17 at the Prodisee pantry. To be eligible, you will need to present a Baldwin County ID. Additionally, there will be a food distribution in Stapleton on Sunday, December 14.The Prodisee Pantry's efforts are truly remarkable.
