Anticipation has been building among Pokémon enthusiasts for the 30th-anniversary trading card collection, and now the Pokémon Company has confirmed the extensive lineup. Set to launch on September 16, this commemorative series will offer a diverse range of products including Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles, and a luxurious Ultra Premium box. Many of these sets will feature unique promotional cards designed to capture the attention of dedicated collectors.
The anniversary series is highlighted by 30 unique Pikachu cards, alongside six exclusive holofoil cards that introduce a novel 'Future rare' classification, characterized by a platinum-like finish. While Mew and Mewtwo are expected to be the most sought-after cards, the collection also showcases other fan favorites like Eevee and its various evolutions, Ditto, Lucario, and the legendary Pokémon from the Kanto region, ensuring broad appeal.
Beyond the standard Elite Trainer Boxes and Booster Bundles, the Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration Expansion offers an impressive variety of products. These include the Elite Trainer Box with nine booster packs and a special Nidorina card, and a Pokémon Center exclusive version with 11 booster packs and two unique illustration cards. Additional releases feature a Booster Bundle with six packs, various collection boxes like the Tech Sticker Collection and Knock Out Collection, and larger sets such as the Poster Collection and the Pokémon ex Box. Premium items like the Ditto Premium Collection and the Ultra-Premium Collection—Day & Night, boasting 29 booster packs, will be available later in the year, alongside the Binder Collection and Mini Tins. A new rarity, dubbed 'Future rare,' distinguishes cards with a chrome-like aesthetic and a prominent RGB Pikachu head emblem, initially seen on Pikachu and Mewtwo cards.
The 30th-anniversary TCG set celebrates the artistic talent behind the franchise, featuring contributions from renowned illustrators such as Tomokazu Komiya, OKACHEKE, and Atsuko Nishida, among many others across more than 160 collectible cards. This celebration of artistry, combined with the diverse product offerings and the introduction of new card rarities, reinforces the enduring appeal and cultural significance of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, promising a vibrant future for collectors and fans worldwide.
