The state of North Carolina is set to witness significant advancements in its food manufacturing and processing industry, thanks to a substantial financial injection. Over $6.6 million in grants has been allocated to support local food manufacturers and processors, aiming to enhance their operations while benefiting farmers and growers across the region. Two companies from Eastern North Carolina (ENC) are among the recipients, receiving funds that will facilitate critical upgrades and infrastructure improvements. The initiative seeks to bolster the use of locally sourced agricultural products, thereby reducing costs for farmers and creating new job opportunities within the state.

Empowering Local Food Manufacturers with Financial Support

This grant program aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of North Carolina’s food manufacturers and processors. By providing financial assistance, these businesses can expand their facilities and streamline production processes. The focus is on improving efficiency and promoting the use of locally grown ingredients, which will ultimately benefit both the manufacturers and the agricultural community.
