About 400 local families in south Oklahoma City received a significant boost on Wednesday as Niagara Cares and several anti-hunger organizations came together for a unique event. This collaborative effort aimed to provide essential items and support to those in need.

Niagara Cares, the charitable division of Niagara Bottling LLC, played a crucial role in this Resource Rally. By joining forces with Feed the Children and the Latino Community Development Agency, they were able to make a substantial impact. The event took place at the Latino Community Development Agency located at 420 SW 10, bringing together various community leaders and volunteers.

Distribution efforts began at around 10 a.m., with several city, state, and community leaders taking the stage to address the crowd. Gus Hawkins, the director of the Niagara Oklahoma City plant, was also present, adding to the significance of the occasion. Sen. Michael Brooks-Jimenez, D-Oklahoma City, shared his thoughts and emphasized the importance of helping those less fortunate during Christmas time. Volunteers from Niagara and Latino Community Development Agency executives worked tirelessly to distribute a five-day supply of family meal kits designed to feed a family of four. Alongside this, each family received a case of water and 15-pound boxes of hygiene items such as shampoo, razors, toothpaste, and other essential products. The distribution also included toys and books, adding an element of joy to the event.
