Edwards then hit a 3-pointer followed by a free throw from Koopmann, cutting the Greyhounds' deficit to 51-50. A basket from the Bulldogs' LaDamien Gatlin-Coellner had Lester Prairie ahead 57-52 with 50 seconds left in regulation.
Finstad's 3 with 20 seconds left pulled Cathedral to within 57-55. Calden Hermann made his first free throw for a 58-55 lead but missed the second. Cathedral got the rebound and Finstad hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game.
In overtime, an Eli Anderson basket and two free throws from Edwards gave Cathedral a 61-58 lead. Then two free throws from Joe Gillis made it a 64-58 Cathedral lead.
Coach Alan Woitas praised the team's efforts, saying, "We never had the lead in regulation, but we kept battling. We executed down the stretch. We went five small for a while in the second half."
