A significant change in leadership has taken place at Mater Dei High School as Terry Muensterman steps into the role of girls basketball coach. Officially announced on Tuesday, this appointment marks a return to the institution where Muensterman graduated in 1973. With over three decades of coaching experience, including ties to both basketball programs, he is well-positioned to guide the team forward. Terry Muensterman's journey in coaching began in the early '90s within feeder leagues before transitioning to higher levels. His tenure includes notable stints as an assistant coach from 2010-14 and again in 2023-25. During these periods, Mater Dei achieved consecutive state championships in 2012 and 2013, showcasing the prowess of standout players like Maura Muensterman and Tori Schickel. Notably, Terry’s son Kelly holds the boys’ all-time scoring record, while his daughter Maura claims the same distinction for the girls, also making her mark in City and Southern Indiana Athletic Conference history.
