




MSI has recently unveiled its latest 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor, a significant advancement over its predecessors. This new model integrates Samsung's most advanced Tandem OLED panel technology, promising a notably brighter display and addressing previous shortcomings, particularly in comparison to LG's OLED offerings.

In a significant development for the gaming hardware landscape, MSI has launched its updated 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor, the MSI MPG 322UR X24. This latest iteration, building upon the success of the MSI MPG 322URX and MSI MPG 321URX, incorporates Samsung's innovative five-layer Tandem OLED panel. This technological leap brings substantial improvements in display performance.
The new panel boasts an increased full-screen brightness, moving from 250 nits to a more vibrant 300 nits, while maintaining a peak HDR performance of 1,000 nits. Notably, the monitor has achieved VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, an upgrade from the True Black 400 of earlier 4K 32-inch models. This certification signifies superior black levels and contrast, crucial for an immersive visual experience.
A key enhancement is Samsung's "DarkArmor Film" technology, which aims to mitigate the purple tint often observed in previous QD-OLED displays. This film is engineered to enhance light absorption, boosting black levels by 40% and delivering superior contrast even in brightly lit environments. While similar technology on the MSI MPG 341CQR didn't entirely eliminate the issue, it significantly reduced it, making it negligible for most gaming scenarios.
Furthermore, MSI has integrated its improved HDR handling into the MPG 322UR X24. This feature streamlines the HDR experience, offering a single mode that effectively balances dark scenes with bright highlights and vivid outdoor gaming visuals. This enhancement was well-received in the 341CQR model, and its inclusion here is a welcome addition.
Although the new model does not feature the RGB-stripe subpixel structure seen in the 341CQR, which was beneficial for lower pixel density monitors, its 4K resolution and elevated pixel density inherently minimize issues like fuzzy text. Therefore, this omission is not considered a major drawback for the 32-inch display.
MSI has not yet announced the official pricing for the MPG 322UR X24, which includes USB-C connectivity and 98W power delivery, alongside a 240Hz refresh rate. While this premium model is expected to be priced higher, there is anticipation for more affordable variants that will utilize the same core panel technology, potentially making high-end OLED gaming more accessible in the near future.
