In their game against Tennessee, Montana remained competitive throughout the first half and into the second. It was largely due to the efforts of Money Williams, who scored more than half of Montana's total points. He made 8-of-15 shots against the Volunteers, showcasing his ability to create looks in various ways. Williams went 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and made 10 free throws, demonstrating his scoring prowess. At one point, he scored eight straight Grizzly points on his own in the second half, a remarkable feat. This performance was significant as he was the first non-SEC player since 2014 to score 30-plus points at Tennessee and the first Big Sky player to do it against a ranked opponent in three years. It also marked just the second time a Grizzly had scored 30 against a ranked opponent.Montana at Utah State: A Comeback Attempt Led by Williams
After a tough first half trailing by 14 points, Money Williams led a comeback attempt at Utah State. He scored 19 second-half points, making 8-of-19 shots against the Aggies and connecting on three shots from range. He also pulled down four rebounds and dished out two assists. Montana was able to pull within two points on several occasions but couldn't overcome the undefeated Aggies, falling 95-83. Despite the loss, Williams' performance showed his ability to carry the team in crucial moments.During the week, Williams averaged 27.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals. He got hot from three-point range, making 7-of-16 (.438) while also making 16 total free throws in the two games. This is the second career Player of the Week honor for Williams, who also earned it on Dec. 5, 2023.
