In Memphis, Tennessee, a tense situation unfolded on Tuesday when workers at an East Memphis food truck became victims of a gunpoint robbery. This incident is not an isolated one, as the same armed robbers are suspected to be behind several other food truck robberies in the area. The latest heist took place at 7:41 p.m. at the popular Taco-N-Ganas food truck parked on South Perkins Road. Two men entered through the back door, holding the employees at gunpoint and making off with money from the cash register. They managed to escape on foot.

Descriptions of the Suspects

Suspect No. 1 is of a thin build and was last seen wearing a black mask, a black hoodie, black pants with a white stripe along the side, white shoes, and armed with a black handgun. Suspect No. 2 has an average build and was last seen in a black hoodie, dark-colored pants, tan-colored Jordan sneakers, and carrying a gray handgun. The crime was captured on surveillance video, providing crucial evidence.

Impact on the Food Truck Business

Taco-N-Ganas has seven food truck locations in Memphis, with an eighth one set to open in the Broad Avenue Arts District soon. However, their first truck outside city limits in Olive Branch, Mississippi, had a short-lived operation. It closed shortly after opening due to Mississippi code enforcement citing the need for logistical revisions. But according to a social media statement, Taco-N-Ganas leaders expect their Olive Branch food truck to be back in business soon.
