Knight's career at Marietta College has been nothing short of remarkable. He started 41 games throughout his college career, with an outstanding 11 games this season alone. His performance on the field has been nothing short of extraordinary.
This season, Knight led the Ohio Athletic Conference with an impressive 20 tackles for loss, resulting in a loss of 99 yards. His 12.5 sacks also led the conference, solidifying his status as a dominant force. His ability to disrupt the opposing team's offense has been a key factor in Marietta College's success.
Knight's achievements have not gone unnoticed. He is a three-time first team All-OAC honoree, a testament to his consistent excellence. In addition to his OAC awards, he also earned a spot on the D3football.com All-America second team last year and was pre-season D3football.com All-American twice prior to this season.
The last Pioneer to earn this recognition was Caleb Riggleman in 2018, and Knight has followed in his footsteps with distinction. His coach, Andy Waddle, had high praise for him, stating that "Chance was a very special player for us for several years. Not only was he outstanding on the field, he represented our program in a first-class manner in the classroom and in the community. He is a perfect example of an All-American football player and a great role model for our younger players."
Marietta College started the season with eight straight wins, demonstrating their dominance on the field. However, they faced tough challenges along the way, losing to Mount Union and John Carroll in the season finale. Despite these setbacks, the Pioneers finished the season with an overall record of 8-3 and a 7-2 record in the OAC.
After falling to Westminster College in the inaugural Extra Points Bowl at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, Knight and his team showed resilience and determination. Their performance throughout the season has been a source of pride for the Marietta College community.
