Man Charged After Allegedly Crashing Vehicle into Massachusetts Bank

In a shocking incident early Monday morning, authorities in Sandwich, Massachusetts, apprehended a 38-year-old individual following a series of deliberate actions that resulted in significant damage to a local financial institution. According to the police report, at approximately 3:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to an emergency call regarding an unusual vehicle collision at the TD Bank located on Route 6A. The suspect, identified as Kevin Coelho from Fall River, initially claimed he had mistakenly hit the gas pedal while attempting to check his account balance. However, further investigation revealed a more alarming sequence of events.

The investigation uncovered that Coelho repeatedly drove his vehicle into the bank building, eventually breaking through the glass structure. Following this, he proceeded to climb over the debris and shattered another glass door before gaining entry into the bank. Law enforcement officials swiftly arrested Coelho, charging him with breaking and entering a depository and multiple counts of property damage. He was subsequently held under a $25,000 cash bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Barnstable District Court.
