




A day of thrilling sports action saw the New Ulm boys' tennis team secure a convincing victory over Mankato East. The match showcased strong performances across singles and doubles categories. Leading the charge was Charlie Weidman, who delivered an impressive showing at No. 1 singles with a decisive win. Similarly, Dan Brownfield and Nicolas Del Castillo Diez contributed significantly to the team's success in singles play. In doubles, the teams of Ian Schotzko/Eli Dorschner and Wyatt Feucht/Thomas Lehne clinched crucial victories, solidifying New Ulm's dominance on the court.
In softball, the Eagles of New Ulm demonstrated their prowess by defeating Worthington in a swift five-inning game. Ramsey Hopp led the pitching effort with impeccable control, while Miley Flor provided effective relief. Offensively, players like Lauren Schmiesing, Kenzie Enter, Gracie Baker, and Berkley Wilfahrt powered the lineup with hits, RBIs, and runs scored. Meanwhile, Minnesota Valley Lutheran faced challenges against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart but showed resilience. Other matchups featured Martin County West narrowly edging Nicollet, St. Clair/Mankato Loyola overcoming Madelia in a high-scoring affair, and Windom Area shutting out Springfield.
The spirit of competition extended to golf and track and field events as well. The New Ulm boys excelled at the Redwood invite, finishing second behind St. Peter. Individual standout performances included Jaxon Buegler and Mason Buegler, whose scores placed them among the top finishers. On the girls' side, Maddy Wellmann set a new personal record. Turning to track and field, both New Ulm and River Valley achieved notable successes. From sprints to relays, shot put to hurdles, athletes displayed remarkable skill and determination.
