At the Beehive Science and Technology Academy, 10-year-old Brody Rowe is immersed in the wonders of STEM. From exploring the intricacies of photosynthesis to envisioning a future as a roboticist, Brody's curiosity and creativity are being nurtured in a STEM-focused environment. "It's a STEM school. It kind of fosters their creativity and just to feel that all these possibilities are out here, especially for science and technology," his mother, Rikki, proudly shares.

The Utah STEM Fest provides a unique opportunity for students to step out of the classroom and engage with professionals from a diverse array of STEM-related fields. Over the course of two days, 8,000 students from across the state will enter the doors of the Mountain America Expo Center, where they'll discover more than 50 interactive booths showcasing the latest advancements and career opportunities in STEM. "This provides the opportunity for the kids to get out of the classroom and meet professionals that are doing the jobs with the skills they're learning in class," explains Tami Goetz, the director of the Utah STEM Action Center.

"The last couple of years, I've had volunteers at booths for the universities that are college students now or working with a company come up to me and say, 'You know, I came to your first or second STEM fest and it changed my life,'" Goetz shares, underscoring the lasting influence the festival can have on young minds.

"Back in the day, people didn't even know how diamonds were made, but now they just know how to compact them and make them like that," Brody reflects, his eyes shining with wonder.
