The Wildcat Performing Arts Academy is hosting a Kids Workshop on Saturday. From 10:30 a.m. to noon, the "Home for the Holidays Experience" will take place. This gives kids the chance to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit while learning about theater. After the workshop, there will be a matinee showing of Home for the Holidays.During the noon to 1 p.m. period when the matinee begins, kids will have the delightful opportunity to meet and take pictures with Santa. The event is specifically geared towards kids aged 12 and under, and event coordinators encourage an adult to accompany each child or group.
Managing Director Jalina McClain emphasizes the various benefits of this event. It includes fun crafts and activities that introduce kids to theater and dance. For those who are already seasoned performers, like the 6-year-old who has been on stage, it offers an opportunity to see how adult performers manipulate the art. It helps kids hone their existing talents and build their confidence.Kids will not only have fun but also gain valuable skills and experiences that will stay with them. It's a chance for them to explore a new creative outlet and potentially discover a passion for acting.
Tickets for this event cost $30, and the proceeds will go towards benefiting the NMU Theater and Dance. By participating, kids are not only having a great time but also contributing to the growth and success of the theater department. It's a win-win situation for both the kids and the arts community. This event is a unique opportunity for kids in Marquette to engage with the performing arts and make lasting memories. It showcases the talent and dedication of the Wildcat Performing Arts Academy and provides a platform for kids to shine.
