The Jaguar Design Vision Concept is set to make a grand entrance during the 2024 Miami Art Week. This striking concept holds the promise of previewing the first in a trio of ultra-luxury Jaguar EVs. The production model is scheduled to launch in 2025, with deliveries commencing the following year.
Jaguar's Mission to Transform
Jaguar is on a remarkable journey to redefine itself as a more exclusive brand, introducing a trio of ultra-luxury electric vehicles. The first of these is set to arrive in 2025, with a tantalizing preview in the form of the Jaguar Design Vision Concept. This concept is all set to debut today at an event that perfectly aligns with the 2024 Miami Art Week. Intriguingly, photos of the concept have already made their way onto the internet via the CocheSpias Instagram page.Design Insights
The leaked photos offer a peek into a concept whose design is bound to undergo significant evolution before reaching production. Jaguar has already showcased a heavily camouflaged prototype, and its styling, based on what we can see, appears less extravagant than the concept. The concept is a large fastback coupe with a pair of doors that are believed to open rearward. The greenhouse features a jet fighter-style canopy design, similar to what the Nissan GT-R popularized. At the rear, there is an element reminiscent of a multi-slatted grille with open vents, which contrasts with a similar grille-like element at the front that is completely sealed.Interior Design
Jaguar's interior design follows the same minimalist philosophy as the exterior. Making full use of the EV's architecture, the center console seems to float between the seats instead of sitting on the floor. The driver is greeted by an oval-shaped steering wheel, and there is a notable absence of digital screens. This might suggest that relevant information will be projected onto the windshield, adding a touch of futuristic elegance.Transformation Plan and Pricing
Under Jaguar's transformation plan, announced in 2021, the automaker will launch three electric vehicles this decade. The first, set to be revealed next year and with deliveries starting in 2026, will be a four-door grand tourer heavily inspired by this concept. A large SUV and a sedan are expected to follow shortly. The new generation of Jaguars will be priced significantly higher than previous models and will be built on a dedicated EV platform called JEA (Jaguar Electrified Architecture). Jaguar emphasizes that having a distinct platform is crucial for differentiating its EVs from those of other brands under parent company JLR. The grand tourer is expected to have a starting price of around 100,000 British pounds (approximately $163,000). The automaker has also promised more power than any previous Jaguar road car and a range of 430 miles based on the WLTP test cycle used overseas. When measured under the stricter EPA cycle in the U.S., the range is anticipated to exceed 300 miles.
