With five new additions through the transfer portal, the Hoosiers now boast 12 scholarship players for the upcoming season. However, questions remain about lineup stability and frontcourt depth, particularly given the inexperience of many recruits. The rebuilding process underscores both challenges and opportunities as Moren looks to guide her team forward.

In preparation for the 2025-26 campaign, Indiana has bolstered its ranks with several key transfers. Rising sophomore guard Chloe Spreen from Alabama, sophomore guard Phoenix Stotijn from Arkansas, senior guard Jerni Kiaku from Duquesne, sophomore forward Zania Socka-Ngueman from UCLA, and junior forward Edessa Noyan from Virginia have all joined the program. Among these newcomers, Kiaku stands out as a potential starter despite height concerns when paired with Shay Ciezki in the backcourt. Despite the influx of talent, the starting lineup remains uncertain. Ciezki is the lone guaranteed starter, leaving four spots open for competition among an inexperienced group. Sophomores like Valentyna Kadlecova and returnees such as Faith Wiseman will vie for minutes, while injuries and development timelines could influence Beaumont’s contribution. Additionally, the frontcourt presents a particular challenge. Although Indiana added forwards Socka-Ngueman and Noyan, neither player projects as a dominant interior presence, raising doubts about whether the current roster can meet Big Ten demands without further reinforcements.

Indiana also addressed departures this offseason, losing six players to the transfer portal. Sharnecce Currie-Jelks chose Murray State, Yarden Garzon opted for Maryland, and others found homes at Kansas, Grand Canyon, and Colorado State. Guard Henna Sandvik remains uncommitted, reflecting broader changes within the program. These exits highlight the necessity for strategic recruiting to maintain competitive balance.

The Hoosiers' focus moving forward must include securing additional frontcourt depth. While Socka-Ngueman and Noyan bring promise, their readiness for major roles remains unclear. Experienced additions could alleviate pressure on underclassmen and provide stability during what promises to be a transitional year.
