Bonds in Gold's Journey to Glory

TheDSP registered liver chestnut colt Bonds in Gold emerged victorious despite displaying a slight paddling gait with both front legs. Bred by Hendrik Niehe and owned by Gestut Schafhof, this handsome young stallion was initially purchased by Matthias Rath for €27,500 at the 2022 DSP Foal Auction. Three years later, Bonds in Gold was sold again at the licensing auction for a staggering €770,000 to Austrian Grand Prix rider Astrid Neumayer of Gestut Pramwaldhof. This remarkable increase in value underscores the potential of well-bred dressage horses.

Bonds in Gold's lineage traces back to Parame (by Goldberg x Rubin Royal x Gotland), making him a prime example of selective breeding. His performance at the licensing event, despite minor physical imperfections, demonstrated the committee's recognition of his exceptional qualities. The substantial investment by Astrid Neumayer reflects confidence in Bonds in Gold's future as a top-tier dressage horse. This acquisition not only highlights the stallion's promise but also signals a strategic move by Neumayer to bolster her stable's reputation in the competitive world of dressage.

Highlighting Other Noteworthy Performances

While Bonds in Gold stole the spotlight, several other stallions also made significant impressions. The reserve champion, a colt sired by For Romance x Floricello x Donnerhall, was bred by Martin Sieverding and presented by Christa M. Seiler. Although not for sale, he will stand at Tobias Schult’s station. Another highlight was the third-ranked premium stallion, a Westfalian-bred Vitalis x Borsalino colt, which sold for €140,000. These achievements underscore the depth of talent among the presented stallions.

Nineteen dressage-bred colts were put up for auction following the licensing event. The highest-priced non-premium stallion was a Donier x Don Olymbrio L, which sold for €102,000 to Belgian buyers. Various stallions found new homes across Europe, including Ukraine, France, and Austria. The auction results revealed a strong market demand for well-bred dressage horses, with the average price for licensed stallions significantly boosted by Bonds in Gold's record-breaking sale. Overall, the 2025 DSP Stallion Licensing showcased the continued excellence and growing interest in the dressage horse breeding industry.
