Ross Gerber, co-founder of the investment firm Gerber Kawasaki, expressed his disappointment regarding the termination of the federal electric vehicle (EV) credit, which ended on September 30th as per President Donald Trump's directive. Gerber, a prominent investor in Tesla Inc., emphasized that these credits were instrumental in stimulating the EV market, citing California's experience where electric vehicles accounted for nearly 30% of all car sales. He believes that such incentives are effective and their removal is regrettable.

In a related development, Norway has also begun to reduce its EV incentive programs. The country announced a revised policy that limits incentives to electric vehicles priced under 300,000 Kroner (approximately $29,700 USD), a significant reduction from the previous threshold of 500,000 Kroner (approximately $49,500 USD). Despite this, Norway remains a crucial market for Tesla, with the company experiencing a 24% increase in sales there during the first seven months of 2025, contrasting with a general slump in European sales.

Meanwhile, Texas continues to offer its own incentives for EVs and alternative fuel vehicles, providing up to $2,500 for electric vehicles and up to $5,000 for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) vehicles. However, other major automakers such as Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co. have withdrawn their plans to extend EV credit programs beyond the federal deadline. Conversely, Stellantis NV is reportedly still offering various EV incentives to its customers.
