The Rotary Club of Greenfield is hosting its annual Fill A Truck Fill A Pantry drive on October 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walmart in Greenfield. This event is a crucial initiative that brings the community together to collect non-perishable food items, canned goods, dry cereals, and baby food. The donations will be distributed to various local organizations, including Shirley Wilkinson United Methodist Church, Fortville Area Rescue Mission, Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, Hancock County Food Pantry, Cross of Grace, and Brandywine Community Church. Monetary donations are also accepted, with recognition given to those who contribute $100 (bronze), $250 (silver), or $500 (gold).This annual food drive is a testament to the Rotary Club's commitment to addressing food insecurity in the Greenfield area. The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce has two upcoming events in November that aim to honor and support the local community.The first event is the "Invite a Veteran to Lunch" initiative, scheduled for November 5th at noon at the Community Foundation of Hancock County's Thrive Center. This annual tradition invites veterans to attend the luncheon as guests, while non-veteran attendees are charged a $15 fee. This event provides an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the service and sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country.The second event is the Women in Business Conference, set to take place on November 15th from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NineStar Connect. This conference celebrates the achievements of women in business, featuring a panel discussion and a luncheon. The registration fee for this event is $50, and the chamber is also accepting sponsorships and door prizes. This conference serves as a platform to empower and inspire women entrepreneurs and professionals in the Hancock County community.

Recognizing Outstanding Working Women

The Hancock County Business and Professional Women's Club is seeking nominations for an outstanding working woman in Hancock County. This recognition is part of the organization's efforts to celebrate Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Working Women's Month in November.The nominated working woman must exhibit qualities such as passion, generosity, commitment, optimism, and/or supportiveness. Psi Iota Xi's Cheeseball Fundraiser

The Upsilon chapter of Psi Iota Xi, a women's philanthropic organization, is taking pre-orders for its annual cheeseball fundraiser. The proceeds from this initiative support speech and hearing, art, literature, and music efforts in Hancock County.Cheeseballs are available in savory and chocolate chip dessert flavors, with the option to order them rolled in nuts or without nuts.
