Dual-Type Cards and Mega Mewtwo X Ex Arrive in Pokémon TCG Pocket This October

During a recent event in San Francisco, The Pokémon Company unveiled thrilling developments for the mobile game, Pokémon TCG Pocket. Among the most anticipated reveals were the upcoming dual-type cards, which are set to introduce a new layer of strategy and excitement to the popular digital card game.

The introduction of dual-type cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket is scheduled for October. The inaugural dual-type card will be Mega Mewtwo X ex, a formidable Psychic/Fighting-type Pokémon boasting 180 HP. Its unique Dual Impact ability deals 100+ damage, with an additional 40 damage if a stadium card is in play. This revelation was a highlight in the game's latest promotional video, which also confirmed the October release of ex cards for the beloved partner Pokémon, Piplup and Fuecoco.

While dual-type Pokémon have been a staple in the video game series since its inception, their integration into the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game came much later, in the mid-2000s. Over the decades, more than 90 distinct dual-type Pokémon cards have been released in the physical game. Initially, their absence from Pokémon TCG Pocket was noted, but the digital game has continued to thrive with a vast collection of cards for players.

Currently, Mega Mewtwo X ex is the sole confirmed dual-type card for Pokémon TCG Pocket. However, an official announcement on the Pokémon website hints at a broader release, confirming that more dual-type cards will follow. This October update is poised to launch a new series of expansions for Pokémon TCG Pocket, indicating a continued commitment to live service support for the game.

The arrival of dual-type cards and ex cards for partner Pokémon signifies a significant expansion of possibilities for Pokémon TCG Pocket. These additions will undoubtedly enrich the gameplay experience, offering players new strategies and a wider array of cards to collect and battle with, ensuring the game's long-term appeal and dynamic evolution.
