On September 21st, DCCA will host a workshop led by St. Marys artist Debbie Gregory, where participants aged 14 and above will delve into the captivating grid method. This technique, employed by renowned artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Johannes Vermeer, involves breaking down a scene into equally-sized squares and then recreating it on a larger scale. Debbie, a versatile artist who works with oils, watercolor, acrylics, and pastels, will guide students through the process of transforming a landscape photograph into a stunning 9x12 acrylic painting. From October 4th to November 1st, the Anna Bier Gallery will showcase the vibrant and expressive works of Angie Siefring, a St. Henry native who now resides in the Columbus area. Angie's paintings are a celebration of the "beautiful light that surrounds us in nature," bursting with color and emotion. On October 12th, Angie will lead a plein air workshop, beginning with a demonstration at 9 a.m. and followed by individual instruction as participants create their own artistic works using their own supplies.
