Embark on the 'Reunion' quest in Crimson Desert, a pivotal mission in Chapter 2, 'Golden Breed,' that leads players to the mystical Ancient Ruins northwest of Hernand. This guide offers a complete walkthrough, from tracking a curious cat to unraveling the secrets of the ruins and mastering essential new skills. Successful completion promises not only progression but also valuable rewards for your journey through Pywel.
The 'Reunion' quest begins immediately after an impactful memory fragment within the Lioncrest Watchtower. Upon exiting, a familiar face, Rulupee, the child you previously assisted in Hernand, reappears to express gratitude. This encounter marks the start of an intriguing chase as you're tasked with following their feline companion, Jiji. Rather than manually navigating the terrain, players can simply hold down the designated follow key (A for Xbox, X for PlayStation, or Left Shift for PC) to have Kliff automatically trail the cat. While Kliff generally handles the movement, be prepared to occasionally re-engage if he becomes momentarily obstructed by environmental elements like rocks or cliffs. Jiji's path ultimately leads north of the Lioncrest Watchtower, guiding you directly to the entrance of the enigmatic Ancient Ruins.
Upon reaching the Ancient Ruins' entrance, a fascinating memory fragment materializes, depicting a humanoid figure employing a skill called Nature's Grasp to manipulate a section of the wall. Players are prompted to learn this ability by observing the memory (holding LB/L1 on controllers or Ctrl on the keyboard). Nature's Grasp, while powerful, is context-sensitive, meaning it can only be used on specific, interactable objects. If the skill prompt doesn't appear near an object, it cannot be moved. After acquiring Nature's Grasp, utilize it near the designated wall section to reveal a passage into an inner chamber. Within this new area, another memory fragment awaits, imparting the Focus skill. Focus allows you to replenish your Spirit by pressing both analog sticks on a controller or the X key on a keyboard, a crucial ability for the challenges ahead.
The concluding phase of the 'Reunion' quest presents an intricate puzzle within the Ancient Ruins. This challenge involves three prominent discs affixed to a wall, which must be struck with the Force Palm skill in a precise sequence to illuminate them all. Remember to frequently employ the newly learned Focus skill to recharge your Spirit, as Force Palm consumes it with each use. A helpful hint for this puzzle is understanding that activating one disc also toggles the state (on/off) of its adjacent discs. The correct sequence to activate all three discs is: first, the Middle disc, followed by the Right disc, and finally, the Left disc. Once the circuit is complete, exit the chamber to find another child, Bilwise, dressed in green and positioned at the cliff's edge. Interacting with Bilwise concludes the 'Reunion' quest.
The 'Reunion' quest bestows a variety of valuable rewards beyond just advancing the main storyline. Players will permanently learn the Nature's Grasp and Focus skills, significantly enhancing their character's abilities. Additionally, completing the quest unlocks an Abyss Cresset, a vital item that enables fast travel across the vast world of Pywel by simply selecting it on the map. Upon final completion, you'll also receive one Palmer Pill, a restorative item capable of resurrecting your character with 30% health, and a Medium Bag, which expands your inventory by three crucial slots, providing more capacity for your adventures.
