Longwood's women's and men's tennis teams are all set to embark on an exciting journey in 2025 with 20 dual matches each. The first-year director of tennis, Charlotte Clarke, made this announcement on Monday. Each team will have the opportunity to showcase their skills six times at home on the Lancer Courts in Farmville.
Spring Season Kickoff
The Longwood spring seasons are set to begin on January 17. The men's team will take on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg at noon, while the women's team will head to Lynchburg to face Liberty at 3 p.m. The very next day, the women's team will participate in a neutral-site match against Elon at 9 a.m. This marks the start of an action-packed year for both teams.Early Matches and Home Openers
On January 25, the Longwood men travel to James Madison at 1 p.m. Then, on February 2, both squads go to Division II Barton in Wilson, N.C. The women have an important match at William & Mary on February 5 at 2 p.m. Before that, on February 22, Howard visits for the home opener for both teams. North Carolina Central then comes to Farmville on February 27 (for the men) and March 1 (for the women), followed by Hampton on February 28.Road Trips and Conference Openers
The Lancers have a busy schedule with several away matches. The men play Bucknell in Richmond on March 8. Both Longwood squads then square off with Gardner-Webb in the Big South Conference opener on March 15. They continue with matches against Davidson on March 16, Radford on March 19, and George Mason on March 21. The women's team is back home to welcome UNC Asheville on March 22 at noon.Home Stands and Final Matches
After a series of away matches, both teams host Presbyterian on March 28 after the men's squad is at W&M on March 25. Each team has one more Big South match on the docket. The women host Charleston Southern on March 30, and the men have Asheville on April 11. The Big South tournament is set for April 17-18 for the men and April 18-19 for the women at the Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, S.C.
