BYD Changzhou - A New Addition to the Fleet

BYD Changzhou is the second ship for which BYD is the owner, following BYD Hefei. Built by CIMC Raffles, this 199.9-meter-long vessel has a loading capacity of 7,000 vehicles. It left port on November 29 and is now on its way to Europe after loading nearly 5,000 BYD NEVs at the ports of Lianyungang and Taicang in Jiangsu province. This operation is set to help cool the planet by 1°C, highlighting BYD's commitment to sustainability.In January 2022, BYD's production site in Changzhou started operations. The arrival of BYD Changzhou further strengthens BYD's presence in the region and contributes to its export capabilities. With a total of seven ro-ro vessels expected to be in operation over the next two years, BYD is clearly expanding its shipping operations.

BYD's shipping journey doesn't end with Changzhou. The company has already made significant progress with other vessels as well. On January 15, BYD Explorer No.1 completed loading vehicles and set sail. Although it is not owned by BYD but built by CIMC Raffles for Zodiac Maritime, it showcases BYD's involvement in the shipping industry.On September 21, Guangzhou Shipyard International Co Ltd (GSIC) held a undocking ceremony for BYD Hefei. This 7,000-vehicle dual-fuel automobile ro-ro vessel is BYD's first as a shipowner and is named after the city where its production base is located. These vessels play a crucial role in BYD's export strategy, helping to transport its NEVs to different parts of the world.

BYD's Sales and Export Figures

In November, BYD sold 506,804 NEVs, marking the second time it has surpassed the 500,000 mark and the sixth consecutive month of record highs. The company sold 30,977 vehicles in overseas markets, showing a 1.14 percent year-on-year growth but a 0.69 percent decrease compared to October. In terms of exports from China, BYD exported 28,141 vehicles in November, which is a 0.46 percent increase from October. These figures demonstrate BYD's strong market presence and export capabilities.BYD's contribution to global PHEV sales in Q3 is also noteworthy.
