Boxing enthusiasts have long been eager for the likes of "Iron" Mike Tyson and "Sugar" Shakur Stevenson to grace the "Undisputed" video game roster. However, instead of these renowned pugilists, developers decided to include celebrity slugger Jake Paul and one-hit wonder James "Buster" Douglas in the DLC pack set to drop on December 12. The inclusion of both Paul and Douglas, who have previous wins over Tyson under different circumstances, has left many wondering if Steel City Interactive (and publisher Deep Silver) are subtly taking a shot at the 58-year-old Tyson for not joining the "sweet science" lineup.

Fan Reactions and Disappointment

Game enthusiasts were already disappointed with the gameplay before these additions. Now, with the inclusion of Jake Paul and the perceived lack of actual boxers, fans are expressing their frustration. One comment reads, "Game was already not worth playing but now it’s getting deleted. This is embarrassing. Glad no one is buying this trash." Another says, "Are you serious? You put Jake Paul in the game before adding anymore ACTUAL boxers? smh." And yet another, "Mad I can’t uninstall this bullsh*t again. I waited for years for this bullsh*t. f*ck Undisputed." There are also complaints about the paid DLC dropping before fundamental gameplay issues like server problems and unavailable roster members are fixed.

Jake Paul's Perspective

In today's release, Jake Paul stated, "I’ve been breaking barriers and making history in real life, so it’s only fitting that I bring the same energy to Undisputed. This isn’t just about being in a video game; it’s about inspiring a new generation of fans to step into the ring — virtually and in real life. The Steel City team nailed every detail, from my moves to my swag, and I can’t wait for players to test their skills as ‘El Gallo de Dorado.’ Just like in the real ring, I’m here to take over."

New DLC Breakdown

In addition to Jake Paul, the DLC pack includes Mexican Legends Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, and Juan Manuel Márquez in Pack 1. Pack 2 features Hard-Hitting Heavyweights James "Buster" Douglas, Otto Wallin, and Zhilei Zhang. Each new fighter comes with an alternate outfit. There are also two new cosmetic packs that offer alternate outfits for Deontay Wilder, Roy Jones Jr., Sunny Edwards, Terence Crawford, Vasilii Lomachenko, and Seniesa Estrada.

Free Content and Updates

In addition to the paid DLC for fighters and outfits, all existing and new players will receive free content and game updates. This includes two brand new "Ring of Fire" outfits for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in anticipation of their rematch in December. There are also two new venues, new animations for knockouts and knockdowns, movement up and down in weight class for Career Mode, as well as audio and UI changes."Undisputed" is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
