After transferring to Section High School, Perry continued to excel, helping the Lions win the 2002-03 Class 1A state championship under the guidance of head coach Ronnie McCarver.

Transitioning to Coaching: Mentoring the Next Generation

Perry's journey in basketball did not end with his playing days. He went on to become McCarver's top assistant at both Section and Skyline, where he dedicated his time and expertise to developing the skills of both the girls' and boys' programs. During the 2020-21 season, Perry's leadership as the Skyline varsity boys' head coach was instrumental in the team's success, as they secured an area tournament championship and a berth in the Class 1A Northeast Regional.

In June 2022, Perry's dedication and talent were recognized when he accepted a position as the director of player development for the Samford University men's basketball program. It's a blessing."
