Anticipated Marvel Movie Trailers Absent from Super Bowl LX

While Super Bowl LX approaches, typically heralded by an array of fresh movie previews for forthcoming releases, two major cinematic events, "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," are unexpectedly missing from the anticipated lineup.

As per industry reports, the Super Bowl broadcast will feature trailers for the new Scream installment starring Neve Campbell and the Michael Jackson biopic. Historically, Disney has maintained a presence at this event, making a new preview for Lucasfilm's "Grogu and The Mandalorian" a likely inclusion. However, it's been indicated that Marvel Studios does not plan to unveil any new footage during the Super Bowl this year.

Both "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "Avengers: Doomsday" are scheduled for release in 2026, on July 31 and December 17, respectively. Despite "Brand New Day" having previously revealed a new suit and behind-the-scenes glimpses, its promotional activities have been sparse, making the Super Bowl an ideal, yet now missed, opportunity for a teaser, especially with its release just five months away. Meanwhile, "Doomsday's" marketing has consisted of a gradual release of teasers since last December, featuring elements like Steve Rogers' surprising revelation, Thor Odinson's emotional moment, and the X-Men's official MCU introduction, including James Marsden's return as Cyclops. Even with a live countdown to its theatrical debut, a new trailer for the next Avengers film at the Super Bowl seems improbable this year.

The potential absence of a new Avengers trailer at the Super Bowl is particularly disappointing, given the lasting impact of past Super Bowl trailers, like the memorable preview for a previous Avengers film that sparked fan discussions and even a temporary meme. Audiences hope that future promotional materials for "Doomsday," whenever they arrive, will offer more substantial insights beyond just character appearances and action sequences.
