The eagerly awaited Wyoming-Montana All-Star basketball series is set to return in 2025, with the rosters unveiled just recently. This prestigious event will take place at the Pronghorn Center in Gillette on June 13, followed by a second match at Lockwood High School in Billings, Montana, on June 14. The girls' games will commence at 5 p.m., while the boys' contests will follow at 7 p.m. The annual series has a storied history, marked by significant achievements and fierce competition between the two states.

This year's edition holds special significance as it marks the 49th occurrence of the boys' series and the 28th for the girls'. A notable highlight from last year was Wyoming's boys ending a long-standing losing streak, sweeping their Montana counterparts for the first time in over a decade. Despite this triumph, Montana still leads the overall series in boys' basketball. On the other hand, Montana's girls continue to dominate, having won fifteen consecutive matches.

In preparation for these high-stakes encounters, both teams boast an impressive roster of talent. Among the female participants are standout players such as Lauren Kuhbacher from Campbell County and Emma Asay from Rock Springs. The male lineup features Truman Degrange and Nomar Gonzales, also representing Campbell County. Notably, three schools that clinched state championships during the 2025 season have athletes featured in these all-star lineups.

Each player selected for the Wyoming teams earned recognition through all-state awards, reflecting their exceptional skills and dedication. Furthermore, every girl chosen plans to pursue collegiate basketball careers, underscoring the caliber of talent showcased in this series. Under the guidance of experienced coaches Liz Lewis and Shawn Neary, both hailing from Gillette College, these young athletes aim to uphold Wyoming's competitive spirit on the court.

As practice sessions begin on June 10, anticipation builds for what promises to be thrilling matchups filled with athleticism and sportsmanship. Fans can look forward to witnessing some of the finest young talents from Wyoming and Montana go head-to-head in a celebration of high school basketball excellence.
