A significant arrest was made in Wilmington following a break-in at a local business. Early on the morning of February 18, 2025, law enforcement responded to an incident at Stanton Car Wash. Upon arrival, officers initiated a thorough search of the premises. They discovered a man inside the establishment, later identified as 41-year-old Curtis Moore from Wilmington. At the time of his apprehension, Moore was found with protective gear and carrying a bag containing various tools associated with unlawful entry. He was detained without resistance.
Further examination revealed that Moore had caused damage to the exterior door to gain access to the car wash. Inside, he also tampered with other property, notably a coin-operated safe. A subsequent search of Moore and his belongings uncovered additional tools used for breaking and entering, along with an undisclosed sum of cash believed to be stolen. Following his arrest, Moore was transported to Troop 2 for processing. He faced multiple charges including third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, criminal mischief involving property valued over $5,000, and theft under $1,500. A judge set bail at $2,000 secured bond.
