







On Friday, at the Donald Van Blake Tennis Facility in Plainfield, Westfield claimed their fourth consecutive Union County Tennis Tournament crown. The three-day event started on Wednesday, where Westfield amassed an impressive 92 points by winning four out of five flights. Summit and Scotch Plains-Fanwood closely followed with 58 and 57 points respectively, while New Providence secured fourth place with 54 points.
This year's tournament saw several standout performances. Ben Duan triumphed in second singles for Westfield after defeating SPF’s Edward Li. Justin Lee also moved up from doubles to claim victory in third singles against New Providence’s Gabriel Zapanta. Evan Kahn and Leo Goldman excelled in first doubles, as did Ethan Lung and Arden Rappoport in second doubles. Meanwhile, Anand Sahsrabudhe of Scotch Plains-Fanwood achieved back-to-back titles in first singles.

Westfield showcased remarkable dominance across various categories during this year's tournament. Their accumulation of 92 points was unmatched, reflecting their consistent excellence over the years. In addition, several other players earned recognition for their efforts, including Chris Winters of Westfield in first singles, Akshay Rao of New Providence in second singles, Shawn Macalalag of Summit in third singles, and the doubles pairings of Thomas LaFrance and Sol Sebastian Wright from Oratory, as well as Acharya Vihan and Maximo Chui from Summit. These performances collectively enriched the tournament experience, highlighting the talent and dedication of all participants.
