Allison's playing career at UWA was marked by his leadership and impact on the court, where he averaged 10.4 points and 3.7 assists per game over 105 appearances. As a key contributor to the Tigers' GSC Title-winning teams in 2022 and 2023, Allison's experience and understanding of the program's winning culture will be invaluable. After a successful stint as an assistant coach at Huntingdon College, where he helped the Hawks significantly improve their win total, Allison now returns to UWA to continue his coaching journey and leave his mark on the program.Tripp Rejoins as Graduate Assistant
Charles Tripp, another former Tiger, has also rejoined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant. Tripp's playing career at UWA was marked by his contributions to the team's NCAA Tournament appearance, where he was named to the All-Tournament team. After graduating from West Alabama, Tripp pursued a professional career in Portugal, where he averaged an impressive 18 points and 8 rebounds per game over three seasons. Zach Clemons, who has served as the team manager for the past two seasons, has now been elevated to the role of graduate assistant. During his time as the manager, the Tigers enjoyed tremendous success, winning a GSC Championship, making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and accumulating an impressive 46-17 overall record. Clemons' familiarity with the program, coupled with his previous experience at Tupelo High School and Itawamba Community College, positions him well to contribute to the continued growth and development of the Tigers' roster.Woodruff Leads the Charge
Under the leadership of head coach Nick Woodruff, the West Alabama Men's Basketball program has established a winning culture and a reputation for excellence. With the addition of Allison, Tripp, and Clemons to the coaching staff, Woodruff and his team are poised to build upon their recent successes and take the Tigers to new heights in the 2024-25 season and beyond.
