The Washington Commanders have teamed up with Flag Star Football to introduce a series of youth football camps across the DMV region. Aimed at children from second to ninth grade, these camps will provide an engaging and educational experience in partnership with experienced coaches from Flag Star Football. The initiative underscores the Commanders' dedication to nurturing young talent and fostering community engagement within the local area.

The collaboration marks a significant step in promoting youth participation in football. The first camp is scheduled to begin on March 31st at Northwest Stadium, with over 40 single-day and week-long sessions planned for various locations throughout the summer. These venues include Bethesda, Md., Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., McLean, Va., and other areas within the DMV. Daniel Levy, Director of Youth Football at the Washington Commanders, emphasized the importance of this program in inspiring future fans and increasing involvement in the sport.

Flag Star Football, established in 2014 in McLean, Va., has already made substantial contributions to youth sports by serving 14,000 players and offering more than 1,600 scholarships last year alone. Carl Ehrlich, founder and CEO of Flag Star Football, highlighted the organization's mission to create a welcoming environment where children can learn new skills and values through sports. This partnership with the Commanders aims to expand access to such opportunities and promote personal development among participants.

The Commanders will contribute to the success of these camps by providing Fan Packs and game footage for educational purposes. Additionally, Washington Legends will attend events to share their expertise and help build foundational skills and interest in football. Families interested in registering can find more information at the official website.

This initiative represents a meaningful collaboration between two organizations committed to enhancing the youth football experience. By combining resources and expertise, the Commanders and Flag Star Football are set to make a lasting impact on the community and inspire the next generation of football enthusiasts.
