I am truly elated with how we managed to turn things around today. The Sprint was quite a shocker; we faced a significant amount of oversteer and struggled to maintain balance throughout. It felt like we were constantly fighting and couldn't make any headway. However, our team's quick thinking and adjustments paid off. We changed the car, and to our surprise, we saw a remarkable turnaround in performance during Qualifying. The car felt more consistent, and once we found the right window, I was able to push the limits with confidence. It's been a while since we last stood on Pole, and I'm extremely proud of everyone's efforts in making those changes and getting us to this position. Tomorrow, we're in the thick of the fight, and I hope we can have some fun on track as well.
Our journey today was a rollercoaster, but we emerged stronger. The work done by the team behind the scenes was crucial. They analyzed the data, made the necessary adjustments, and gave me the car I needed to perform at my best. I'm confident that we can continue this momentum and achieve even better results in the coming races. The P8 position is just the beginning; we're aiming for the top.
Looking ahead to the rest of the weekend and trying to figure out the best strategy for both cars, we made a bold decision to take my car out of parc ferme for the Sprint. This was to prioritize trying out different set-ups and gaining valuable insights. It meant sacrificing our Sprint performance, but it ultimately proved beneficial for Qualifying and hopefully the race as well. We made some significant improvements, and the main focus was on the tyres. The first sector still presented some challenges, but it was a good step forward from where we were earlier. The pace in Qualifying was much better, and we finally found the perfect balance. The main race tomorrow is our next challenge, and I'm hopeful that we will have the pace to compete. We're looking stronger on the long runs, and I believe we're on the right track. Our target is to join the leaders and make our way through the field. I think we have the potential to be competitive, and today's progress gives us a lot of confidence.
As a team, we're constantly evolving and learning. Each race brings new opportunities and challenges, and we're ready to face them head-on. The work done in Qualifying gives us a solid foundation, and now it's time to translate that into a strong race performance. I'm excited to get back on track tomorrow and give it our all.
Today wasn't an easy day at all. In terms of performance, it seems we were relatively similar to yesterday. During Q1, we encountered traffic, which put us on the edge with our lap times. But luckily, we managed to make it through. After that, in Q2, I gave it my all with my lap, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough. We didn't have enough pace to move up the grid, and P14 was the best we could achieve. We'll spend the night analyzing the data from the Sprint and qualifying to try and understand where we can make improvements for the race. Tomorrow won't be a walk in the park, but we'll do everything in our power and maximize every opportunity.
Our team is working hard to find the solutions to improve our performance. We know that every detail counts, and we'll leave no stone unturned in our quest for better results. Despite the setbacks today, we remain focused and determined to bounce back and show what we're capable of on the race track.
During my last lap, I faced some pesky traffic, and when the margins are in hundredths of a second, it can be extremely frustrating. My tyres weren't fully ready, which affected the start of my lap and prevented me from improving on my first lap time. As a result, we ended up out of position. Tomorrow is going to be a tough battle, and we struggled in the Sprint today. But that's not going to stop us. As a team, we'll work as hard as we can to find opportunities on track and make the most of every situation.
We know that setbacks are a part of racing, but it's how we respond that matters. We'll analyze our mistakes, learn from them, and come back stronger tomorrow. Our team spirit is unwavering, and we'll fight tooth and nail to improve our position and achieve better results. There's still a long way to go, but we're not giving up.
