Game Against Samford

The Commodores will face Samford (2-4), a mid-major opponent. Samford has struggled against Division I opponents, with losses to Tennessee, Memphis, Central Arkansas, and Florida State. Their only wins came against NAIA Fisk and D2 Montevallo. One familiar face will be playing for Samford - Emily Bowman, who spent her freshman year at Vanderbilt in 2020-21 and transferred to the Bulldogs after Shea Ralph replaced Stephanie White. This season, Bowman is averaging 13.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field. This game will be available on streaming only via the ESPN app with a login for any cable or streaming service that carries SEC Network, including Fubo, which offers a free trial to new subscribers. Alex Gould and Richard Hendrix will be on the call.

Previous Game Results

Vanderbilt's recent wins have been by at least 13 points, showing their dominance. They have been making these games look easy, and there's no reason to think that won't continue. Their schedule includes tough opponents like Arizona at the Acrisure Classic and Cal or Michigan State at the same event. They also have games against Appalachian State and at Miami.

Player Updates

Vanderbilt will be without Sacha Washington due to a non-basketball related medical issue. Shea Ralph received a contract extension before the start of the season, but the terms of the extension are undisclosed.
