Unveiling the Newest Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races

Nov 18, 2024 at 10:15 AM
After an exhilarating week with high-performance road machines, the latest batch of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races has made a grand return. These races now feature an all-race car lineup, accompanied by a touch of mischief in the regulations. Let's dive in and explore the details.

Experience the Thrill of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races November 18: Race A

The track for this race is the iconic Laguna Seca, spanning 5 laps. You'll be racing in Gr.4, front-wheel drive cars from the garage or specified car list. The power/weight/PP limit is set at BOP (L), and you'll need to use Racing Medium tires. Partial settings are allowed, including brake balance. With a rolling start, it's a race that demands both skill and strategy.

In this race, Driver Rating (DR) updates are turned off, meaning your DR won't change regardless of the result. However, Sportsmanship Rating (SR) updates remain on, so be cautious and avoid getting caught up in dirty races. It's a classic format that has been a favorite in GT Sport Daily Races, with options like the Audi TT, Peugeot RCZ, Renault Megane, and Volkswagen Scirocco. Now, the Mazda 3 and Suzuki Swift have been added, providing even more choices.

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races November 18: Race B

Race B takes place on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with 5 laps in the regular layout. You'll be racing Gr.3 cars, and the power/weight/PP limit is set at BOP (H). Racing Soft tires are required for this intense 11-minute or so race. Partial settings are allowed, with brake balance being one of them. The rolling start adds to the excitement as you compete for the top spot.

There are several competitive cars in this race, so feel free to choose the one you like the most. Just make sure it's equipped with Racing Soft tires to handle the challenges of the track.

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races November 18: Race C

For Race C, you'll be racing around the Deep Forest Raceway Reverse course, covering 14 laps. The car of choice is Gr.3, and you'll need to use both Racing Hard and Racing Medium tires. Partial settings are allowed, including brake balance, differential, and suspension. The rolling start sets the stage for an intense battle.

One interesting twist in this race is the availability of some additional settings options for the first time in a long while. You'll have limited ability to tune some suspension and differential parameters. However, keep in mind that you can't save setups for Daily Races, so you'll need to apply your settings in the lobby before the race starts. Additionally, there's a mandatory tire change during the race. You'll need to make your way down the pit lane between the end of lap one and the start of lap 14 to swap between the Racing Hard and Racing Medium tires. Failure to do so will result in a one-minute penalty. Be careful not to cross the pit entry or exit lines, as each violation will incur a three-second in-race penalty. The exit is right on the racing line, posing a danger to other cars on the circuit.

Tire wear is set at a surprisingly high 7x multiplier, so you'll need to make the most of the Medium tires before they wear out and become slower than new Hards.

Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in GT7. Your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are determined by your performances, updating after each race. These ratings are used to set your ranking and league for the game's flagship esports series each season. To access the Daily Races, you'll need to unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 ("Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade") in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to participate. With GT7's Daily Races updating every Monday throughout the game's lifespan, the next new set is expected to arrive on Monday, November 25.
