Joe Grippo's Photographic Journey
Joe Grippo's photos from the car show at Hershey are truly a sight to behold. His lens captures every detail, from the classic cars to the modern ones. The variety of vehicles on display is astonishing, ranging from brass era beauties to the latest sports cars. His shots make you feel like you're right there at the show. The photos not only showcase the cars but also tell stories. Talking to the owners and hearing their tales adds an extra layer of charm. For example, the story of grandma's 1966 Tempest with only 18,000 miles is both fascinating and heartwarming. The AACA Eastern Region Fall Meet
This weeklong celebration of the automobile in Hershey, Pennsylvania, has been a tradition since the 1950s. Every day from dawn to dusk, there's a massive swap meet and car corral. The Sotheby's auction every night is equally impressive, with an outrageous stack of cars up for bid. It's a wall-to-wall automotive history experience. When Friday arrives, the swap meet packs up and the car show begins. With a wide variety of classes, there's something for everyone. The Preservation Class showcases unrestored or sympathetically restored survivor cars, which are truly interesting to examine. The Sports Car Class, on the other hand, features perfect Lamborghini Miuras, gorgeous Jaguars and Healey's, and a Lotus Cortina that will leave you in awe.Vintage Race Cars at Hershey
On Thursday at the old Hershey Stadium, the AACA hosts race car conditioning runs. It's a delight to watch each entrant start and make a few laps around the stadium. Vintage Sprint Cars, sports cars, and even occasional drag cars show up every year, making it one of the hidden gem activities at Hershey. The library parking lot has a paved area reserved for the race cars during the show. Judging is a crucial part of the AACA show, with teams of judges and marque experts roaming the show with clipboards and judging sheets. These owners are vying for AACA level award badges, which add significant value to the vehicle's pedigree. We always leave the AACA Hershey week with our minds blown, physically exhausted but with a wealth of automotive knowledge. If you're a car aficionado, this event is a must-visit.
