Uber is gearing up for the holidays with significant changes to its local delivery service and expanding its car seat offerings. This season, Uber is rebranding its local delivery service, formerly known as Uber Connect, to Uber Courier. Launched in 2020, this new name better defines its purpose and provides a more streamlined experience for customers.

Uber's Holiday Happenings - Redefining Delivery and Car Seats

Uber Courier: A Holiday Delivery Solution

The Uber Courier service initially launched with the ability to send and receive items to and from local addresses. Over time, it has expanded to include the pickup of pre-purchased items from local stores. During the holiday rush, when traffic can be a nightmare and time is of the essence, tapping the Courier button in the Uber app allows you to have an Uber delivery person head to places like the Best Buy pickup counter to fetch your online purchases and bring them directly to you or to someone else. Additionally, Uber Courier can pick up and deliver your packages to the post office, saving you the hassle of standing in long lines and dealing with impatient people.

Imagine avoiding the existential dread of waiting in a line under fluorescent lighting while government employees handle your packages. With Uber Courier, you can have peace of mind knowing that your deliveries will be handled efficiently and promptly.

Uber Car Seats: Holiday Travel Essentials

For those traveling with little ones this holiday season, Uber is expanding its Uber Car Seat service. Already available in New York City, Los Angeles, and Orlando, it is now accessible in Washington, DC, Atlanta, Miami, and San Francisco. By reserving an Uber Car Seat in advance, your driver will arrive with a Nuna Rava convertible car seat for your baby or toddler. This provides added convenience and safety for families on the go.

Uber is currently running a promotion for Uber Car Seats until January 2. The code FESTIVESEAT10 allows you to save “up to $20” on two Car Seat rides. It's a great opportunity to ensure the safety of your little ones during holiday travels.

Holiday Traditions with Uber

In addition to delivery and car seats, Uber is diving deep into holiday traditions. This includes the delivery of Christmas trees or Hanukkah bushes, adding a touch of holiday cheer to your home. The company is also rolling out on-demand carolers equipped with booze and even Macaulay Culkin (naturally), bringing the holiday spirit to life in unique ways.

Whether it's a festive delivery or a holiday-themed ride, Uber is making the holidays more enjoyable and convenient for its customers.
