On a Sunday morning just before 7:30 a.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 57, four miles south of Stanton. This incident led to two Stanton men being cited and hospitalized.

Deputies believe the crash occurred when a northbound car driven by Alejandro Reyes, 27, crossed the center line and struck a bridge guardrail head-on. A passenger in the car, Jose Mandujano-Ceja, 30, had to be extricated using the “Jaws of Life” and was transported to Faith Regional Health Services (FRHS) by ambulance. He was cited for having an open alcoholic liquor container. Reyes was also taken to FRHS after his arrest.
